Story

Between his classes and group projects, his day had been pretty hectic. As if on cue, his stomach let out an impatient rumble. His mind, however, was still unsettled by the disagreement hed had with a classmate earlier in the day. He was still bristling inwardly as he made his way towards the cafeteria, where his friend was waiting for him. As he sat down, he saw a post-it note asking him to smile. He immediately recognised the scrawling handwriting. Reaching for his coffee cup, he came across another note. And then, as he pulled out his lunch, he found another one. Despite his dour mood, the notes made him smile. He walked up to the person responsible, his best friend. œWhy are you trying so hard to make me happy? he asked her. With a small smile, she replied, œWe wont always have occasions to celebrate. We can try creating our own. He let the words sink in. Hed never heard his best friend speak so sagely. To him, she had always just been Dahlia. But now he knew different. He knew better. Shed never be just a Dahlia to him again.
